Historical/Heritage Societies' Meetings:
E.&O.E.
[Please let us know of coming meetings: date, topic, contact person, etc.]

Many months ago I posted this web page and tried to get contact names, etc. for the various groups and have asked/invited the various groups to post here their upcoming meetings, planned speakers, etc.

The response has been totally underwhelming.

And this evening (Jan 20, 2007) at Kent Historical Society someone even asks whether Kent Historical Society has a web page.

Well, there is that seemingly is not being updated; also there is this failing attempt to promote Chatham-Kent Historical Museums and Collections AND Historical/Heritage Societies.

8 Nov. 2005 (Tuesday): Tecumseh mystery to be examined -- It may be the biggest mystery in Chatham-Kent: Just where is Tecumseh buried?
That question will be possibly answered at a meeting of the Bothwell Zone & District Historical Society on Nov. 8, at the town hall in Bothwell, beginning at 7pm.
Guy St. Denis, author of Tecumseh's Bones, will be guest speaker. St. Denis' book examines the possibilities of Tecumseh's final resting place, and discusses other issues that surrond the death of the great Shawnee chief.
Tecumseh died in October 1813 during the Battle of the Thames, east of Thamesville.
His body has never been located. Popular history suggests that a handful of warriers removed his body to a secret location. [atham Sun 24 Oct 2005 p.3]
